Wellmark's Patient Access API provides software developers with a data interface to power an iOS, Android or Web app. Once a Wellmark ACA member (members who purchased their health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace) provides proper consent, your app can be used by the member — or their personal representative — to view their Wellmark health information including: health care provider visits and clinical data collected in the process of providing case management, care coordination, or other services to the member, etc. This REST API provides access to the data via the HL7 FHIR standard in JSON form.
Once you register your organization, you and your developers can use the Wellmark developer portal to:
- Read technical documentation on the Patient Access API
- Register your app
- Generate Client Secret
- Test in Sandbox
- Go live with your app
Wellmark’s Payer Access API provides payers with a data interface to request and exchange information for Wellmark members when they transition between health plan or have concurrent coverage. For members who have opted in to data sharing the API can be used to exchange their Wellmark health information including health care provider visits, prior authorization history and clinical data collected in the process of providing case management, care coordination, or other services to the member, etc. This REST API provides access to the data via the HL7 FHIR standard in JSON form.
