To avoid the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we encourage you to take advantage of virtual visits with your current primary care physician, if you have this capability. For those who don’t currently have a primary care physician, please use an in-network provider or Doctor On Demand®. The cost-share for such visits, including those for mental health reasons, are waived through Aug. 31. At that time, we will reassess. With Doctor On Demand, you and your family members can speak with an experienced virtual doctor who can treat most common medical conditions and prescribe medication, if needed. Using Doctor On Demand is simple and you can make an appointment on your time.

Getting started with Doctor On Demand is easy
Doctor On Demand is a covered benefit under many Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield health insurance plans. But even if your plan doesn't cover virtual visits, an appointment via Doctor On Demand may still be a cheaper option than an urgent care or ER visit.
To get started:
- Download the Doctor On Demand app or visit the website External Site.
- Have your Wellmark ID card handy. You'll be asked to enter your full ID number, including the three character prefix.
- Create an account or sign in.

Doctor On Demand physicians do not prescribe Drug Enforcement Administration-controlled substances, and may elect not to treat conditions or prescribe other medications based on what is clinically appropriate.
For plans that include benefits for mental health treatment, Doctor On Demand benefits may include treatment for certain psychological conditions, emotional issues and chemical dependency.
