Medicare Advantage (Part C) Coverage
Medicare coverage that fits all aspects of your life. That's why we created Wellmark Advantage Health Plan, an affiliate of Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
How Medicare Advantage plans work
Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, combines Part A, Part B and often Part D into one plan. Many Medicare Advantage plans provide coverage for things that Original Medicare does not, including prescription drugs, dental, vision and hearing care.
How a PPO plan works
With a PPO plan, you have flexibility. In Iowa and South Dakota, you can choose a provider from our broad network. When you need to seek care out of state or want to travel the country, you’re backed by the Blues National Network. That means you can see any in-network provider and pay in-network rates. You can opt to see an out-of-network provider, but your cost-share might be higher. PPO plans do not require a referral to see a specialist or out-of-network provider.
Why choose a Medicare Advantage plan from Wellmark?
- Low or no monthly premiums. Plus, premiums are the same for everyone regardless of age or health status.
- Plans feature a broad network of doctors and hospitals with coverage that travels with you.
- Plans typically have lower copays or deductibles than Original Medicare.
- Plans include a maximum out-of-pocket limit Original Medicare doesn’t have, making medical costs more predictable.
- Plans often include additional benefits like vision, dental, hearing and extra programs and services to live a healthy life.
