Des Moines, IA — The Wellmark Foundation has provided two South Dakota organizations with Large Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grants. These grant recipients were notified in May and had 16-weeks to secure the required match amount in order to receive their funds from The Wellmark Foundation. The two funded projects will help individuals, families and communities achieve better health through built environment initiatives that encourage physical activity.
"We are proud to award the Burke School District and Willow Lake Area Advancement with MATCH grants," said Mary Lawyer, The Wellmark Foundation executive director. "Both of these organizations and their projects are designed to improve the well-being of the communities they serve well into the future."
The two grants awarded funding include:
Burke School District 26-2, Burke
Burke School Playground
MATCH Grant Award Amount: $80,000
Total Project Budget: $195,000
