Des Moines, IA — The Wellmark Foundation provided St. Lambert School a $36,000 Matching Assets to Community Health (MATCH) grant. To ensure community support for the grant project, St. Lambert School matched this grant amount dollar-for-dollar.
This grant will help replace a 20-year old deteriorating playground with a safer place to play. The goal is to remove the existing play structure and replace it with a large one that will accommodate more children, as well as, add playground equipment that will help improve gross motor movement. The new playground will help to encourage a healthier lifestyle for children and provide an opportunity for families to spend quality time together.
"We are pleased to support St. Lambert as they now can provide a safe place to play that will encourage physical activity for years to come," said Becky Wampler Bland, The Wellmark Foundation executive director.
