Dr. Thomas Cink

Dr. Thomas Cink is a retired radiologist. He began his diagnostic radiology practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in 1981. He was president of Medical X-Ray Center, served on the executive committees of the group’s main hospitals, and was president of the Alumni Board of Directors for Sanford USD School of Medicine. Dr. Cink also chaired the Department of Radiology of the medical school.
A former clinical professor of radiology, Dr. Cink has published a number of breast cancer research articles. After his fellowship in 1991, Dr. Cink, with the administration and key physicians at Sanford Hospital, started the Edith Sanford Breast Health Institute. He was also the Medical Director of BHI, which serves more than 40,000 patients annually for screening, diagnosis and management of breast cancer. He was a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Radiology.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Sioux Falls. He interned and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Hospital in Los Angeles and completed a fellowship in chest and breast imaging at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
