Homemade taco seasoning
Looking to cut down on sodium while still eating your favorite Mexican recipes? Try this homemade taco seasoning.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon corn starch (optional for thickening)
Cook
Mix together ingredients and store in an airtight container until ready to use.
Serve
In taco meat, use about 2 tablespoons per one pound of meat. After browning and draining your meat, add 1/3 cup of water and simmer until water is absorbed.
