Wellmark names Lori Clausen as incoming president for South Dakota

Sioux Falls, SD — Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield announced today that Lori Clausen has joined the company as the incoming president for Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Dakota. Clausen was previously an area vice president for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in Sioux City, Iowa.

“I look forward to becoming a resident and active member of the Sioux Falls community,” said Clausen. “Professionally, I am eager to work directly with our customers to develop and deliver the best possible health insurance solutions for our members.”

Clausen has more than 30 years of experience as a health insurance and business leader. As president, she will be responsible for strategy and executive leadership in South Dakota. She will also oversee community relations, policy and regulatory issues, new business development activities and work directly with customers.

Clausen will succeed current South Dakota President Phil Davis, who will retire at the end of 2017 after 44 years of distinguished service.
