Sean McTaggart earned a bachelor's degree in management and economics from Wartburg College.


McTaggart joined Wellmark in 2013 and previously served as director of strategic sales operations. As senior vice president of Sales & Segment Performance, McTaggart is responsible for providing strategic direction in selling and renewing groups and individual policies. He provides strategic leadership over sales strategy, operations, process and culture, channel choice and management, and customer advocacy. He is also responsible for direction on the planning and definition of marketing strategies for each of our business segments that take advantage of market opportunity.

Prior to joining Wellmark, McTaggart was chief of wellness strategy and operations at Principal Wellness and served various roles at Principal Financial Group, including strategy development, network contracting, regional vice president for a 15-state region and plan president. Prior to Principal, McTaggart had 16 years of sales experience primarily in the pharmaceutical industry.
