
Jason Humphrey Vice President, Health Networks & Government Programs
Jason Humphrey is the vice president of health networks and government programs for Wellmark. He joined the organization in February 2021 with more than 21 years of health care leadership experience within payer and provider markets.
In his role, Jason provides strategic direction and leadership for network payment strategy, value-based payment and innovation, network economics, network contracting, payment integrity, consumer transparency, trend management and analytics, and strategic cost of care initiatives. Jason also oversees the Medicare Advantage (MA) strategy for Wellmark in Iowa and South Dakota and works closely with internal resources, external consultants, and joint venture partners to manage the operating model, business plan, key performance metrics and go to market management strategy.
He has developed his expertise in commercial and government programs throughout his career in a variety of leadership roles, which includes helping complex, matrixed organizations develop and execute strategic, profitable growth strategies. He brings payer and provider expertise relative to network and value-based strategy, pricing, product design, development, deployment, and on-going operations that deliver against the business plan.
Prior to Wellmark, Jason served as vice president of commercial network strategy for UnitedHealthcare and worked for Catholic Health Initiatives (MercyOne).
Jason earned a Master of Health Service Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
