Education

Michele Druker received her bachelor’s degree with honors from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She received her Juris Doctor degree with highest honors from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she served as articles editor of the Iowa Law Review.

Career

As vice president, associate general counsel and assistant board secretary, Druker oversees all legal and insurance regulatory services including litigation, corporate transactions, contracts, legal services, and insurance filings for Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield and its subsidiaries. She serves as secretary of The Wellmark Foundation, Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa, Inc., Wellmark Synergy Health, Inc., and Wellmark Value Health Plan, Inc. Prior to joining the Wellmark Legal Department in 1988, Druker was a partner at the Dickinson Law Firm in Des Moines, Iowa. She was also a law clerk for Donald Lay, chief judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Druker is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Polk County Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the State and Federal courts in Iowa.
