Marci Chickering received her bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Northern Iowa. She earned her master’s in business administration with an emphasis in human resources from the University of Iowa.


Chickering joined Wellmark in 2003 and served in multiple HR roles prior to her appointment of senior vice president — human resources in 2009. Currently, Chickering has the accountability of the Human Resource and Process Excellence functions serving as executive vice president – People and Process. She is certified in the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument. She currently sits on the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Workforce Development/Education Board, the University of Iowa REACH Advisory Board and Prevent Child Abuse Iowa Board.
