Valerie Snyder-Rivera serves as vice president of Sales Operations and Programs. She plays a critical role in delivering on the strategic business plan for Business Development and Client Solutions and related enterprise-wide objectives. In addition, Valerie and her team lead the work to enhance agency agreements and interact with agency leadership to ensure Wellmark has the best representation in the industry.

She previously served as vice president, Business Compliance and Market Implementation. Valerie has been instrumental in supporting key Wellmark initiatives, including entrance into the Medicare Advantage market, oversaw the Iowa Stopgap Measure, Farm Bureau health plan administration, and entrance into the Affordable Care Act (ACA). During her work on the transition into the ACA, she helped create a comprehensive product portfolio and continuously improved processes to ensure compliance with new regulations. She also spent several years working on Wellmark's product strategy across all market segments.

Valerie joined Wellmark in 2005 and has served in multiple roles within marketing including director of marketing programs, director of small group and senior segment manager for Medicare and U65. She most recently served as vice president, Business Compliance and Implementation. Prior to Wellmark, Valerie worked for Pillsbury and Tone Brothers Inc., and has experience in a variety of sales, marketing and product development roles. Valerie is on the board of Des Moines University's MHA program and Alpha.

Valerie holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in marketing from Iowa State University.
