Giving Back

To date, funding from the Wellmark 3-Point Play at the University of Iowa is using technology to make exercise fun and interactive with a QR F.I.T. Trail system at Waterworks Prairie Park in eastern Iowa.

This was the first QR F.I.T. Trail system installed in Iowa. A second QR F.I.T. Trail has been announced for Terry Trueblood Recreation Area.

The innovative QR F.I.T. Trail system provides park users interaction with a certified fitness specialist on their mobile devices at various stations along the park.

Previous funding from the Wellmark 3-Point Play allowed for the expansion of youth fitness programs with new child-size equipment, an exer-gaming system for group exercise and an aquatics climbing wall.

Since 2010, Wellmark has donated more than $100,000 to Iowa health projects in partnership with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
