Medical and prescription drug coverage

Wellmark offers its employees three health plan options. Prescription drug coverage and vision exam insurance are also included in the health plan you select

Dental coverage

Choose from two dental plan options — a core plan or a premium plan with additional benefits for orthodontia and other services.

Vision plan

You can elect to purchase our comprehensive vision insurance for glasses (standard lenses and frames) and contacts.

Compensation

Compensation is comprised of two components: base pay or annual salary, and potential pay from the Performance Incentive Program (PIP), awarded annually when financial and customer measures are successfully achieved.

Wellmark offers competitive financial benefits, including a pension plan, 401(k) savings and investment plan, and retiree medical account.

Educational assistance

Earn up to $15,000 annually for approved college coursework and fees, and Wellmark reimburses full-time employees up to $5,000 for qualified college student loans.

Pathways to Wellness incentives

You are eligible to earn additional incentive dollars for completing wellness programs and a health screening at your health care provider's office.

Wellmark employees are encouraged to be physically active, whether that's at an on-site gym or with a reimbursement to an outside gym. Our campuses also feature collaborative and secure workspaces with sit-to-stand desks to accommodate any work style preference.

An Employee Assistance Program provides confidential assessment, consultation and referral services to employees and their family members.

BluesCareSM Giving

Caring is a core value at Wellmark, and no program exemplifies our employees' investment in their communities more than The Wellmark Foundation's BluesCare Giving program. The BluesCare Giving program encourages employees to donate their time and money to qualifying nonprofit organizations in Iowa and South Dakota. The Wellmark Foundation then matches these contributions.
