As part of Wellmark's continued analysis and evaluation of the diagnostic imaging preauthorization program, we have decided to stop requiring preauthorization of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) procedures beginning with dates of service on or after November 1, 2009. TEE services (procedure codes 93312 - 93317) will continue to require a precertification through October 31.
