How the Blue Priority HRA Works

Blue Priority HRA combines Blue Select^® or Classic Blue^® with a health reimbursement account (HRA). This gives your employees first dollar coverage up to a predetermined amount, selected by you based on your needs.

There are three components to Blue Priority HRA:

1) The first component is the Blue Priority HRA, and it is funded entirely by you. Essentially, it gives your employees a pool of money to use as they see fit for their health care needs.

2) The second component is funded by the employee. Once the employee exhausts his or her available Blue Priority HRA funds, he or she pays 100 percent of his or her medical expenses until reaching the health plan's deductible amount.

3) The third component involves the coinsurance option you select. Once the deductible is met, your employee is responsible for a percentage of the cost of all health care services and prescription drugs thereafter up to the out-of-pocket maximum.
