Alliance Select^SM

Alliance Select plans provide your employees with direct access to the physicians and specialists in Wellmark's preferred provider network, plus the option to go out-of-network. The Alliance Select network includes nearly all Iowa physicians and hospitals. The BlueCard program extends members' provider choices across the United States and worldwide.

There are four Alliance Select plan designs for small businesses, which offer you a mix of cost-sharing options:

• Alliance Select Copayment Plans use flat-dollar copays for office-based services. Most other services are subject to a deductible and coinsurance.
• Alliance Select Coinsurance Plans use a percentage amount based on the provider's billed charge for office-based services. Most other services are subject to a deductible and coinsurance.
• Alliance Select Premium Saver Plans (for Groups 2-50) have a tiered copay design for office exams. Employees pay a lower copay for primary care and a higher copay for specialist care. Most other services are subject to a deductible and coinsurance.
• Alliance Select HSA-Qualified Plans are high-deductible health plans that can be paired with Blue Priority Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to fund employee health coverage. HSA dollars are used to help pay covered health care expenses until the deductible is met.
