Wellmark Drug List

Effective January 1, 2006, eight brand-name drugs will move from Tier 2 to Tier 3 on the Wellmark Drug List. Tier 3 drugs have a higher copayment or coinsurance.

The table below lists the medications moving to Tier 3, as well as their generic equivalents.

One other drug, Uroxatral, is also moving from Tier 2 to Tier 3 on the Wellmark Drug List. This drug does not have a generic equivalent; however, there are other therapeutic alternatives available.

* A generic equivalent is a medication that contains the same active ingredient at the same dose and formulation as the brand name drug.
