Xyzal Step Therapy Program

Xyzal is a non-sedating antihistamine that was new to the marketplace in September of 2007. Xyzal is used to treat allergies.

Program Details

For Xyzal to be a covered benefit, you must follow these steps:

You must try and fail both Zyrtec (an over-the-counter antihistamine) and generic Allegra before coverage is available for Xyzal.

If your doctor wants you to “skip” steps, your doctor will need to submit a prior authorization request and receive approval for the drug to be covered.
