Blue PrioritySM HSAConsumer-Directed Health Coverage SolutionsThe Blue Priority HSA (Health Savings Account) is an innovative approach to health coverage. It helps your employees to take charge of their health care choices by allowing them to become more aware of the cost of health care services. The Blue Priority HSA also encourages them to accept more accountability by sensibly using the money they’ve contributed to meet their own health care needs. The Blue Priority HSA combines a high-deductible Alliance Select or Classic Blue health plan with an employee-owned health savings account.
High-deductible Health Plan Your employees would enroll in a high-deductible health plan, selected by you. However, Blue Priority HSA dollars can be used to pay for deductible expenses. Once employees meet the deductible, they pay the applicable coinsurance for all services provided from then on. The employee’s liability is limited by the annual out-of-pocket maximum. So, depending on how much money your employees have in their Blue Priority HSAs, they might not have any out-of-pocket costs before the health plan starts paying benefits. Prescription drugs are included as part of your employee’s health coverage in an HSA-compatible plan, and are subject to the deductible.
