Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa offers you "one-stop" administration for all your benefit needs. With Wellmark you can combine your medical and dental enrollment, membership and billing. That means your employees only have to enroll one time, with one company. And, you get one combined bill for your medical and dental coverage.

Blue Dental benefits encourage preventive care and regular visits to the dentist. This not only promotes better oral health, it also helps control costs by catching problems early, when they usually require less extensive treatment.

Blue Dental uses a statewide network of participating dentists to help ensure your employees have access to a wide selection of Iowa dental providers and services. Participating dentists also help keep dental costs down by agreeing to accept Wellmark’s payment arrangements as the most they will collect for covered services. Participating dentists are an integral part of the services provided by Blue Dental for other reasons as well:

• Your employees will only be responsible for deductible and/or coinsurance amounts when they see Blue Dental participating dentists. Unlike non-participating dentists, Blue Dental network dentists cannot collect the difference between Wellmark’s payment arrangement amount and the dentist’s billed charge.
• Participating dentists handle all the paperwork—including filing claims and coordinating reimbursements—so your employees won’t have to.
• Participating dentists accept responsibility for submitting treatment plans for review when necessary. Your employees will never be responsible for submitting or handling treatment plan reviews when they see Blue Dental participating dentists.
