Comprehensive benefits and affordable plan designs make Alliance Select a perfect addition to your benefit offering. Alliance Select gives you and your employees the flexibility and freedom to choose from an extensive list of network providers, as well as non-network providers, and still have health coverage.

Large employer groups have great flexibility in Alliance Select plan design and selection of covered and noncovered services. Customize an Alliance Select plan to best meet your employees' needs from deductible and coinsurance amounts to prescription drug coverage, dental coverage, and preventive services. Qualified, high-deductible Alliance Select plans can be paired with the Blue Priority HSA (Health Savings Account).

Six Points You Need to Know About Alliance Select:

• Deductible waived. With Alliance Select, you'll receive a waived deductible whenever covered services are received in and billed from the office of an Alliance Select network provider, as well as for some x-ray and laboratory outpatient facility services provided by Alliance Select network providers.
• No network restrictions. Alliance Select has no network mandate, so employees have coverage whether they see an in- or out-of-network provider. But with an extensive network of approximately 99 percent of Iowa physicians and all of Iowa's hospitals, they won't have have any trouble finding a network provider or facility.
• In-network advantages. By receiving care from an Alliance Select network provider, your employees will be responsible for a lower coinsurance percentage. Providers who contract with Wellmark also file claims electronically so your employees don't have to file paper claims.
• No balance billing. Alliance Select network providers won't collect from members any difference between the rate the providers usually charge for covered services and the rate Wellmark has negotiated. (In other words, these providers have agreed to accept Wellmark's settlement as payment in full for covered services, once any applicable deductible, coinsurance and/or copayment amounts are paid by the member.)
• No referrals. Unlike other health plans that require employees to visit their primary care physician (PCP) before seeing a specialist or another provider, there's no need to obtain a referral from your PCP with Alliance Select.
• Prescription drug plan included. Wellmark partners with one of the nation's top pharmacy benefits managers to offer a variety of benefit plan designs and convenient access to a large pharmacy network that includes both national retail chains and independent pharmacies.
