Proposal Review and Scoring

The Foundation evaluates Letters of Interest (LOI) using a score sheet (pdf) that applies numeric values to each of the criteria outlined below. The sections are scored as follows for a total possible score of 100 points:

Objective Criteria
Description of Need/Issue Context 10 points
Capacity/Community Connectedness 10 points
Desired Results/Strategies 25 points
Budget Planning/Discussion 15 points
Sustainability/Replication/Portability 15 points
Overall Quality of Plan 15 points
Subtotal 90 points

Subjective Criteria
Up to an additional 10 points may be awarded based on:

  • Value of idea
  • Community collaboration
  • Cutting-edge/learning opportunity
  • Meets the Foundation’s high priority criteria

Total possible points: 100 points
