Step Therapy Program

A step therapy program encourages the safe and cost-effective use of prescription drugs by requiring a “step” approach for coverage to occur for certain high-cost medications.

If you want your patient to “skip” steps, a prior authorization request will need to be submitted and approved for the drug to be covered.
