How the Process Works: Screening

Once Wellmark has received your application, it is reviewed for critical and required information.

Once all of your information is received, Wellmark will complete processing your application and begin the credentialing process. Wellmark excels in application processing times.

Credentialing

Once all the critical and required information is received, your application will follow the credentialing process:

If a provider has previously been reviewed through standard processing (Current Contracting Practitioners ), he or she must still complete credentialing for inclusion in TRICARE and or Blue Access^SM, Blue Choice^® and Blue Advantage^®. Once a provider has completed the credentialing process, recredentialing occurs every three years.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You should not VIRTUAL claims for any Wellmark or TRICARE members until you have been notified of your approval for a specific network. Furthermore, you should not provide services for any Wellmark network member prior to receiving notice of your acceptance to Wellmark networks. Claims for services prior to this date will be denied unless a referral was approved in advance.
