How to Submit Claims Electronically

Claims can be submitted electronically through EC Solutions or through other vendors that offer software for electronic claim transactions.

EC Solutions sells software for submitting claims electronically. Call 1-800-407-0267 for more information.

EC Solutions is able to receive Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, and most commercial lines of business. EC Solutions is not able to receive Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B and Medicaid lines of business, as those should be sent to their respective electronic data interchange (EDI) services.

Submitting Claims Through INet
InterChange Network (INet) is the electronic service that provides a secure environment for sending claims and receiving reports. INet is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays).

Step	Process
1	After claims are correctly prepared and collected into an electronic file, the claims are transmitted from your office to INet via the Web BBS (Internet Connection) or via a telephone connection.
2	INet edits the file to ensure it is in the correct format and checks for common errors.
3	A message will be posted to your secure electronic mailbox to let you know that the transmission was successful (posted within seconds of submission).
4	A TXN report with claim acceptance and rejection will be available for you to download (posted within two to six hours of submission).

Claims are then separated based on payer. Wellmark claims are sent to Wellmark, who examines the claims for errors that might stop or suspend the adjudication of the claims. Wellmark provides an acceptance report within 24 hours.

Commercial claims are sent on to a clearinghouse for distribution to other payers via INet.
