Enrollment of Practitioners and Facilities/Entities

Participating physicians, hospitals and allied providers play an integral role in our commitment to serve and improve the health of Iowans and South Dakotans. Providers who contract with Wellmark benefit from their association with us. By contracting with Wellmark, you can benefit in the following ways:

• Settlement of claims for Wellmark members sent directly to provider
• Provider Service - dedicated service area answers claim inquiries and other questions
• Listing in paper and online provider directories
• Extensive online access including access to view eligibility, benefits, and claim status
• File claims conveniently through Wellmark for out-of-state members with any Plan's Blue Cross and Blue Shield coverage

Follow the enrollment process based on your provider category. Use the Apply for Participation link in the left navigation to complete the process. Practitioners are individual professionals providing services, and Facilities/Entities are places where the services are performed.

If you choose not to participate, you must have a provider number to submit claims. For more information, select How the Process Works in the left navigation.
