Preauthorization requests can be submitted online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Real time responses will be given, if the request meets all criteria.
BlueConnection Tool
Access to the Wellmark BlueConnection® tools is required to submit a preauthorization online.

| Already registered for BlueConnection tools, | Your designated security coordinator (DSC) will need to select who may have access to this tool. |
| Not registered to use BlueConnection tools | Then complete the online registration found under the BlueConnection tools navigation. |
Using the Manage Radiology Preauthorization Tool
The following steps will help you in using the radiology preauthorization tool found in the BlueConnection navigation of the Provider section of Wellmark.com.

| 1 | Choose Manage Radiology Preauthorizations in the BlueConnection tools on www.wellmark.com |
| 2 | Enter your BlueConnection password; you will be redirected to the American Imaging Management Web site |
| 3 | Select Preauthorization Request |
| 4 | Select your physician from the drop down list |
| 5 | Select Start Preauthorization |
| 6 | Review the Disclaimer, select Agree to continue which will take you to member information |
| 7 | Search for the member by either entering the Wellmark member ID number or the member's name |
| 8 | Enter the exam date for the patient and select Continue which will take you through exam and diagnosis questions |
| 9 | Choose a facility from the list provided or search for a facility |
| 10 | View and print the Preauthorization Summary page. The preauthorization number appears in the top right corner |
| 11 | Select Finish to complete the preauthorization request |
