Health Care Quality & Cost
Health Plans
Find out how your health care plan ranks on various quality measures:
-
HEDIS® (Health Plan Employer Data and Information
Set): A measurement tool used by more than 90 percent of
America's health plans, HEDIS evaluates a health plan's performance
on effectiveness of care, member satisfaction, access and availability
of care, and use of services. View Wellmark’s 2007 HEDIS results.
- NCQA Health
Plan Report Card: Create a health plan report card and
compare health plans with this tool of the National Committee for Quality
Assurance (NCQA), an independent organization dedicated to improving
health care quality. Its rating system looks at the following five measures:
access and service, qualified providers, staying healthy, getting better,
and living with an illness. Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa (WHPI) has
received four stars — also known as Excellent — the highest
level available. Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield PPO plans are
not reviewed.
