A Primary Care Health Product
With Blue Advantage, your health
care is coordinated by a primary care physician (PCP), ensuring continuity
of care.
Here’s what you need to know about Blue Advantage:
- PCP-coordinated care. Choose a PCP from a wide selection
of providers in the Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa to coordinate your care.
In addition to a PCP, females may also designate a network OB/GYN.
- Use network providers. To receive benefits, you
must receive services from health care providers who are part of the Wellmark
Health
Plan of Iowa network. Benefits are not available if you go out of
network. If you need medical attention away from home, the BlueCard
program gives you access to more than 6,000 hospitals and 600,000
doctors around the world for emergency/urgent care.
- A focus on preventive care. Blue Advantage offers
benefits designed to keep you healthy. Preventive care such as
routine physicals,
immunizations, and well-child care is covered when you visit
your PCP.
