Vision Plans*
Vision coverage offers small businesses a range
of eye care plans to fit their employees' needs and company's budget. These
plans reduce employers' and employees' costs by delivering benefits and
services through a national network of optometrists, ophthalmologists,
and retail optical
centers. Participation
requirements and employer contribution levels vary according to group
size.
How It Works
Employers can select from three eye care coverage options with a choice
of copays, benefit levels, and hardware allowances,
including:
- Fully insured plus plan, which provides full coverage for annual vision
exams, frames or contacts (up to an allowance), and standard lenses.
- Materials-only plan, which covers standard lenses and frames or contacts
(up to an allowance) in full. This option is a good choice for groups
with health plans that cover vision exams.
- Discount plan, which provides discounts on vision exams and materials,
rather than insured benefits. There are no participation requirements
with this option.
Key Selling Points
- Large provider network. These vision plans give employees
access to a network of 18,000 eye care professionals practicing in more
than
10,000 locations
nationwide.*
- Wide range of coverage options. Employers can choose from
a number of flexible vision plans, from
discount and materials-only plans to fully insured plans.
- Discount features. The plans are designed to cover eye examinations,
corrective eyewear, and visual needs. If employees select options
that are not covered under a plan, they'll pay a discounted
fee to the participating provider.
- Enhanced benefits package. As part of a comprehensive benefits
package, vision coverage helps
attracts
and
retain valuable employees.
