Classic Blue – What You Need to Know

No network restrictions

With Classic Blue*, there are no network restrictions. You can receive services from any doctor, hospital or other health care provider you choose. When you receive services from a Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield provider, there are advantages.

Participating providers:

  • Agree to accept our settlement as payment in full for covered services.
  • File claims for you.

Non-participating providers:

  • Can bill you for the difference between their charge and Wellmark's maximum allowable fee.

  • May not file claims for you.

No referrals necessary

There’s no need to get a referral to see a specialist or other health care provider.
