Blue Access^® – What You Need to Know

See your primary care provider (PCP)

Preventive care services are covered only when you see a PCP from the Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa network*. This may include:

• Routine physicals
• Immunizations
• Mammograms
• Well-child care

Use network providers

To receive benefits, you must:

• Receive services from health care providers that are part of the Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa network.
  
  
• Verify your Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa physician or hospital uses only network providers for all covered services. This includes, but is not limited to:
  
  

Laboratory services

Radiology interpretations

Durable medical equipment

No referrals needed for network providers

With Blue Access, you have direct access to every provider in the Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa network…without a referral. Just make an appointment with a network provider to receive benefits for covered services.

If you see a non-network provider:

• Benefits will not be available
• You are responsible for all incurred medical expenses

Pay your copayment

When you receive services in a Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa provider’s office, remember your office visit copayment listed on your ID card is due at the time of service.
