We offer three managed care products that give employees access to one of the largest provider networks in Iowa. These plans use the Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa network, which includes 100 percent of hospitals and 96 percent of physicians in Iowa. 

Each has a number of plan options, with varying deductible and coinsurance amounts, to help you find a solution that fits your budget:

• Blue Choice^® — Employees must select a primary care provider (PCP), and their out-of-pocket costs are generally lowest when they see their PCP. Females may also choose an OB/GYN. Employees can see any physician they want for most services, but they will share more of the cost.
• Blue Access^® — Employees can see any provider in the network without a referral. They are not required to choose a PCP, however, employees generally pay a lower office visit copay for primary care and a higher office visit copay for non-primary care. There is no out-of-network coverage, except in an emergency or urgent care situation.
• Blue Advantage^® — Employees and their family members must select a PCP as the starting point for all health care, unless an emergency situation arises. Females may also choose an OB/GYN. There is no out-of-network coverage, except in an emergency or urgent care situation.
