Prescription Drug Coverage All Wellmark small business health plans include prescription drug coverage. Most plans* provide coverage through Blue Rx PreferredSM, a prescription drug card program in which employees pay a fixed copayment at the time of purchase.

Blue Rx Preferred uses a tiered copayment structure to encourage your employees to use generic or lower-priced drugs. Employees have the lowest copay for generic drugs and higher copays for brand-name drugs.  

Blue Rx Preferred provides access to a large pharmacy network that includes both national retail chains and independent pharmacies. Using a network pharmacy helps employees save on their out-of-pocket costs. Employees also have the option to fill prescriptions via mail service.

*Alliance Select^SM, Blue Choice^®, Blue Access^®, Blue Advantage^®, and Blue Priority HRA^SM use Blue Rx Preferred. Blue Priority HSA covers prescription drugs under the health plan.
