Beginning July 1, 2012, several changes will be made to the Wellmark Drug List. The following brand-name medication is moving to the highest Tier on the Wellmark Drug List. There is a generic equivalent available; no new script is required for current users of Lipitor to move to the generic equivalent. Simply ask your pharmacist for the generic version.
Highest Tier based on benefit design
The following medication is moving to Tier 3 of the Wellmark Drug List. There are generic alternative contraceptive methods, such as oral medications, that are available in generic and with a lower cost share that provide the same efficacy. To move to a generic alternative, a new prescription will be required.
