Iowa Individual and Farm Bureau U65 Contractholders with PCP/non-PCP Cost Sharing
During the 2012 Iowa legislative session, House Bill 2465 was passed. Effective July 1, 2012, this bill limits the copayment or coinsurance amounts for chiropractic services to be no greater than the amount imposed for medical services received by an in-network primary care physician (PCP). For example, Wellmark cannot have a copayment of $20 for services received from an in-network PCP and a copayment of $40 for services received from an in-network chiropractor. Wellmark has implemented this requirement as of July 1, 2012, and an amendment to your contract will be mailed to you shortly.
