2010 Medicare Certification and Training 

New Agent Training

Agenda

New agent training will cover the basics of small group and individual health products, including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) compliance standards for Part D and Medicare Advantage.

Sessions available are as follows: (Note: Breakfast & lunch provided both days) 

Day 1
Registration: 8:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m.
Small Group (Course 01-8276C, 3 Continuing Education Credits or CECs): 8:30–11:45 a.m.
Under 65 Individual Health Products (Course 01-8240C, 4 CECs): 12:30–5:00 p.m.

Day 2
Registration: 8:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m.
Over 65 Products, Part D and Medicare Advantage (Course 01-8241C, 4 CECs): 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Who Should Attend

All newly appointed agents with Wellmark must attend New Agent Training within 90 days of appointment. Agents are only required to attend training for their appropriate appointment:

• Agents appointed for small group sales are only required to attend the Small Group session
• Agents appointed for individual sales are only required to attend the Under 65 and Over 65 sessions

Registration 
To register, e-mail SDTrainingRSVP@Wellmark.com  your name, agent number, writing agency and the date and session(s) you will be attending or call (605) 373-7428 or (800) 245-5750. Seating is limited, so register early to reserve your spot.

Medicare Certification and Training

Wellmark is responsible for ensuring all agents selling MedicareBlue^SM Rx and MedicareBlue^SM PPO coverage follow the Medicare Marketing Guidelines as established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

2010 MedicareBlue Rx (PDP) and MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) Certification

MedicareBlue Rx (PDP) and MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO)— Creditable Production
All agents must be certified prior to marketing and/or selling 2010 MedicareBlue Rx (PDP) and MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) products.

Medicare Certification and Training (for 2010 products)

Taking the 2010 MedicareBlue Online Training Course 
Wellmark will register each appointed agent and set-up their log in information. To take the course, complete the following steps:

• Review the 2010 MedicareBlue Solutions Certification Login Instructions and Technical Support Information 
• Access PinPoint Global  to complete the online training 
• Log in
  • User Name: Agent’s National Producer Number (NPN) 
  • Temporary Password: Wellmark + agent’s NPN (example: wellmark999999) all in lowercase letters
• Optional: Turn off or adjust audio by selecting the volume icon located in the lower right corner of your screen
• Complete AHIP Medicare Training:  This course requires online payment of $100 to complete. (If you have completed the AHIP course through another carrier, you will still need to click on this module to access the AHIP site for Wellmark verification at no additional charge.)
  • You will have a total of three attempts to pass the exam.  After the third attempt, you will be required to take the entire AHIP course again including paying the fee of $100
  • Optional – CEC are available for this course.   Instructions are included in the AHIP course.
• Complete MedicareBlue Enrollment and Disenrollment course
• Complete MedicareBlue Products course
• Click Print Certification after you have successfully completed all courses 

Important Passing Criteria

The AHIP online course includes the following lessons:

D. Marketing Medicare Advantage and Part D Plans
E. Enrollment Guidance for Medicare Advantage and Part D Plans

F. 50 Question AHIP Exam

The AHIP exam requires a passing score of 90%.  You will have a total of three attempts to pass the exam.  After the third attempt, you will be required to take the entire AHIP course again including paying the fee of $100.

The required courses for product-specific training include the following lessons:

C. 15 Question Exam

This exam requires a passing score of 85%
