Individual New Agent Training

Agenda

All newly appointed agents are required to attend Individual New Agent Training within 90 days of their appointment. The class will cover the basics of all individual  health products.

(Note: Breakfast & lunch provided): 

Registration & Continental Breakfast: 8:30–9:00 a.m.
Class (Part I of Course 75080; 6 Continuing Education Credits or CECs total for completing entire course): 9:00 a.m.–Noon

Lunch: Noon–12:30 p.m.

Class (Part II of Course 75080; 6 CECs total for completing entire course): 12:30–4:00 p.m.

Medicare Certification and Training

Wellmark is responsible for ensuring all agents selling MedicareBlue^SM Rx and MedicareBlue^SM PPO coverage follow the Medicare Marketing Guidelines as established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

2010 MedicareBlue Rx (PDP) and MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) Certification

MedicareBlue Rx (PDP) and MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO)— Creditable Production
All agents must be certified prior to marketing and/or selling 2010 MedicareBlue Rx (PDP) and MedicareBlue PPO (Regional PPO) products.

Medicare Certification and Training (for 2010 products)

Taking the 2010 MedicareBlue Online Training Course 
Wellmark will register each appointed agent and set-up their log in information. To take the course, complete the following steps:

• Review the 2010 MedicareBlue Solutions Certification Login Instructions and Technical Support Information 
• Access PinPoint Global to complete the online training 
• Log in
  • User Name: Agent’s National Producer Number (NPN)
  • Temporary Password: Wellmark + agent’s NPN (example: wellmark999999) all in lowercase letters
• Optional: Turn off or adjust audio by selecting the volume icon located in the lower right corner of your screen
• Complete AHIP Medicare Training:  This course requires online payment of $100 to complete. (If you have completed the AHIP course through another carrier, you will still need to click on this module to access the AHIP site for Wellmark verification at no additional charge.)
  • You will have a total of three attempts to pass the exam.  After the third attempt, you will be required to take the entire AHIP course again including paying the fee of $100
  • Optional – CEC are available for this course.   Instructions are included in the AHIP course.
• Complete FWA BCBS course
• Complete MedicareBlue Enrollment and Disenrollment course
• Complete MedicareBlue Products course
• Click Print Certification after you have successfully completed all courses 

Important Passing Criteria

The AHIP online course includes the following lessons:

A. Overview Medicare Programs Basics
B. Medicare Health Plans
C. Medicare Parts D Prescription Drug Coverage
D. Marketing Medicare Advantage and Part D Plans
E. Enrollment Guidance for Medicare Advantage and Part D Plans

F. 50 Question AHIP Exam

• The AHIP exam requires a passing score of 90%.  You will have a total of three attempts to pass the exam.  After the third attempt, you will be required to take the entire AHIP course again including paying the fee of $100.

The required courses for product specific training include the following lessons:

A. MedicareBlue Enrollment and Disenrollment Course

B. FWA - BCBS

C. MedicareBlue Products

D. 15 Question Exam

• This exam requires a passing score of 85%

Small Group New Agent Training

Agenda

All newly appointed agents are required to attend Small Group New Agent Training within 90 days of their appointment. The class will cover the basics of small group health products (Note: Breakfast & lunch provided): 

Registration & Continental Breakfast: 8:30–9:00 a.m.
Class (Part I of Course 78169; 3 Continuing Education Credits or CECs total for completing entire course): 9:00 a.m.–Noon

Lunch: Noon–12:30 p.m.

Class (Part II of Course 78343; 1 CEC): 12:30–2:00 p.m.

Monthly Individual Contract Changes

If you are an experienced agent or a new agent to Wellmark, you will benefit by participating in one of Wellmark’s monthly individual contract changes webinar/teleconference training sessions.

This session will help you understand what contract changes are available in the individual market along with timeframes and paperwork that is required. Please be sure to have a copy of your Individual Enrollment Under 65 manual  (722 KB) with you.

Small Group New Products

Are you looking for more Real Solutions for small business clients? A new set of lower cost Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans, called “Primary” plans, will be available starting with new group effective dates of March 15, 2010 and after, and at renewal beginning in April. 

Small business clients who carry a Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa will soon move to the most comparable replacement plan in the new Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa product portfolio. Starting with new group effective dates of April 15, 2010, and at renewal beginning in May, the current plans will retire to make way for more affordable options. If the suggested replacement

plans do not meet the needs of your small business clients, they are free to choose from Wellmark’s extensive health plan menu.

This session will help you understand the new small group PPO and Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa products.
