Wellmark named a 2013 Top Diversity Employer by the Black EOE Journal
July 24, 2013

The Black EOE Journal (BEOEJ) has named Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield to its “Best of the Best” listing of Top Diversity Employers listing for 2013. BEOEJ is America’s leading African American career and business magazine.

“As one of our core values, Inclusion is the foundation for the way we interact, the work we do and integral to our culture,” said Wellmark Chairman and CEO John Forsyth. “This achievement would not be possible without the commitment, respect and appreciation our employees exhibit every single day.”

The Best of the Best lists were compiled from market research, independent research, diversity conference participation and survey responses that were performed by DiversityComm’s agents and/or affiliates. More than 250 companies and institutions participated in this year’s survey.

“Valuing diversity means creating a workplace that respects people's differences and recognizes the unique contributions that individuals can make,” said Mona Lisa Faris, president and publisher of the Black EOE Journal. “And increased productivity is a proven benefit of greater diversity.”

The 2013 survey of the nation’s Best of the Best also included Top Diversity Employers, Top Supplier Diversity Programs and Top Government & Law Enforcement Agencies. The complete listing of companies named to each of these listings can be viewed on BEOEJ’s web site.
