Wellmark enhances mobile app to improve member access to benefits and assistance

App includes quick access to myWellmark's most popular tools

Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield has substantially enhanced its current mobile app to include secure mobile access to claims, benefits and financial information as well as quick access to the most popular tools and information it provides on its secure, personalized website, myWellmark.


“We continue to see an increase in members seeking information using mobile technology,” said Tim Peterson, Wellmark’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “Adding additional mobile tools, like those located on myWellmark, will give our members access to more information and provide the flexibility to manage their health information from any location at any time.” 


The free mobile app provides Wellmark members with the ability to view their claims and benefits information; ask customer service questions online;  locate a nearby in-network physician, dentist, hospital or other medical facility; view a mobile ID card that can be emailed to a medical provider; and talk to a  personal health assistant 24/7.


The app is available on the App StoreSM as a free download for iPhones and

other Apple devices such as iPads.  Android devices can access the app through
