Wellmark's newest business practices are more efficient, reduce waste, and are eco-friendly at the same time. That's "Lean & Green."
Lean & Green Headquarters
The flagship of our lean & green campaign is our corporate headquarters that was completed in late 2010. The building earned LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This is the first Platinum-certified office building of its size in the world.
Green-Friendly Initiatives
Among our many lean and green initiatives are:
- reducing paper use
- using more eco-friendly materials—like compostable to-go containers in our cafeteria
- staging a "go-green contest" for employees to suggest green-friendly ideas.
