Wellmark is changing our business practices to become a more "lean & green" company. Lean & Green means improving processes to be more efficient and reduce waste—and be eco-friendly at the same time.
The flagship of our lean & green campaign is our new corporate headquarters that will be completed in 2010. Our goal for the new building is to achieve gold-level LEED certification.
Among the many other lean and green initiatives at Wellmark are reducing paper use, using more eco-friendly materials—like compostable to-go containers in our cafeteria, and staging a "go-green contest" for employees to suggest green-friendly ideas. |
